STUDY HALL RULES and REGULATIONS
Each athletic team is required to fulfill study hall requirements. All countable hours must be completed in the Cox Communications Academic Center. Cox Communications Academic Center (CCACSA) is an environment that is conducive to learning. Computers, tutoring, and the support services teams are provided to assist you. Please respect your surroundings and the people that share them with you. The following rules have been created to insure a positive learning environment.

THE CCACSA TEAM The Cox Communications Academic Center Team is here to assist you. Please treat the team members with the courtesy and respect that you would like afforded to you.
CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT The computer at the front desk will register the time you arrive and the time you leave the Cox Communications Academic Center. If you should have any problems with the program, please alert the front desk monitor. If you sign-in and leave the facility without signing out, your time will not count toward your weekly total. In addition your coach will be notified. If you forget to check out, you will lose all your time. This is a time to study. It is not a time to eat, or visit with friends, etc.
You will have from 5PM on Sunday until 5PM on Friday to complete your hours. A weekly summary of your attendance will be provided to your coaches weekly.
THE COX COMMUNICATIONS ACADEMIC CENTER IS FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES ONLY.
Group meetings are permitted with approval.
SPACE IS LIMITED Tutor rooms are exactly what they say that are for. These rooms are reserved for tutors to meet with their assigned student-athletes. If a tutor room is vacant, you may use it. However, you may be asked to relocate if the room is needed. The library is reserved for quiet study. Rooms 103 and 104 may be used for group review sessions. If they are vacant, you may use them as well. However, like tutor rooms, you may be asked to relocate if needed.
COMPUTER LAB You are allowed to check e-mail and use it for homework, projects, and assignments only.
Facebook.com, Mysapce.com, Badjocks.com, porn, chat, games, etc. will not be tolerated. You may lose your computer privileges if you have repeat offenses. Save your work constantly to Tiger Bytes. If you use a thumb drive,
please save your workon your thumb drive and remember to take it  with you once you have finished. If you should have any questions, our computer lab monitor can assist you.
Absolutely no food, drink, candy, etc. will be allowed in the lab. Once again, the computer lab is for academic related work
ONLY.
CELL PHONES Please turn them off when you enter your tutoring session, mentoring session, or library. If you need to make a call regarding a homework assignment, school, etc. please go to outside of the rooms and monitor your tone. Your call should be limited to minimize distractions.
NO HATS, baseball caps, etc. are to be worn in the Cox Communications Academic Center.
CD PLAYERS/ MP3 PLAYERS CD players and MP3 players can be used in the Cox Communications Academic Center. The volume should be at a level so your neighbor cannot hear your music.
NO SLEEPING Please come prepared to study. If you are sleeping, you will be asked to leave.
FOOD and DRINK There is no food allowed in Cox Communications Academic Center. Drinks are allowed in the Cox Communications Academic Center, but
not the computer lab. We prefer that all beverages be in plastic, no-drip spout bottle. Please keep lids, spouts, caps, etc. closed when not drinking.
NOISE Please restrict talk to homework and other school related discussion. If you must talk with someone, please do so outside of the rooms. Be respectful of others who need quietness.
TRASH/ WRITING ON DESKS/ FACILITY APPEARANCE Please help us keep the center clean and organized. Do not write on tables. Put all trash in the trash reciprocals. DO NOT throw beverage containers in the reciprocals. Please place them inside. Dispose of gum in the trash. Put things back where you found them. THIS IS YOUR CENTER. HELP US MAINTAIN IT.
DRY ERASE MARKERS/ ERASERS Markers and erasers are available for your use. Please clean the board when you are finished.

TUTORING If your tutor is a no show, please alert the tutorial desk. If you are having problems with a tutor, please contact Jason Shaw. Please be on time for all appointments. If you have to cancel, alert your advisor. All cancellations must be submitted via email to your academic advisor by 8:00pm the previous day. Failure to comply will result in a no show charge of $50.00.Â
BACK PACKS/ BOOK BAGS/ PERSONAL BELONGINGS Please keep all personal items with you at all times. CCACSA members are not responsible for lost or stolen items. If a theft should take place, contact the front desk immediately. Tutor rooms are not to be used as lockers for your personal belongings.

PERIODIC ATTENDANCE CHECKS On occasion a CCACSA member will verify that the student-athletes who have signed in are actually studying and physically attending the Cox Communications Academic Center by taking a current attendance list and doing a comparison check of each student-athlete in the facility. If a student-athlete cannot be found, the time will be deleted for that day, and your coach will be notified. If it should happen again, any time acquired during the week will be deleted and your coach will be notified. This does not mean a student-athlete loses their access to the Cox Communications Academic Center and resources
WE ARE WIRELESS The Cox Communications Academic Center is wireless. You may use your personal computer to do work. It is not an opportunity to use prohibited social networking sites like
Facebook.com, Myspace.com, Badjocks.com, porn, chat, games, etc. In order to configure your laptop go
here. If you are having problems, please contact the computer lab monitor located in the lab.
The CCACSA members are here to create and maintain a positive learning environment. If you do not abide by the rules, you will be asked to leave. The facility is acoustically challenging, and we need your cooperation. If you are having problems with another student-athlete or you have a concern, please alert the front desk immediately.

Once again, this is a great opportunity for you to get your work done. Please take advantage of it.
