Katie Odum joined the LSU Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes (CCACSA) as an Assistant Learning Specialist in July 2026. In her role, working with student-athletes to develop effective learning strategies, strengthen their academic skills, and balance the demands of collegiate level athletics with academic expectations. 
 
Before joining LSU, she spent two years as an elementary educator in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. She provided individualized learning plans, targeted academic support, and intervention strategies to support students in reaching their full potential.
 
Odum is from Coppell, Texas, and later went to Lubbock, Texas, to compete at the Collegiate level as a Division I Soccer player for the Texas Tech University Women's Soccer Team from 2020-2022. She also completed her student-teaching experience in Tech Teach Across Texas in the 2023-24 school year, finishing with her experience with a bachelor's degree of Science in Elementary Education.
