Kenyatta Walker is a seasoned academic and athletic administrator with over 15 years of experience in Student-Athlete development, academic advising, and program coordination. She currently serves as the Associate Director at the Louisiana State University Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes, where she provides academic oversight for the men’s basketball, women’s soccer, and softball teams. In this role, she supervises academic support staff, coordinates the Internal Eligibility Committee and CCACSA policy committee and assist in supporting Project Graduation student-athletes in achieving their academic goals.
Prior to this role, Kenyatta was the Associate Director and Director of Football Academics at LSU, where she played a pivotal role in academic planning, eligibility monitoring, and student-athlete support services. Her career also includes serving as an Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator at Alabama A&M University, where she managed compliance, student-athlete academic progress, and administrative operations for multiple sports programs.
With a passion for student success, Kenyatta has extensive experience as an athletic academic advisor at institutions such as Prairie View A&M University, West Virginia University and Alabama State University, where she supported student-athletes in football, basketball, baseball, and other sports. She has also contributed to higher education as an adjunct professor of history at Alabama A&M University.
Kenyatta holds a Master of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Alabama State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Georgia Southwestern State University. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including The Drake Group, the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development. She also serves on the Athletics Culture and Engagement Council, the Athletics Council on the Prevention of Domestic & Sexual Violence, and a member of the Community Engagement Advisory Board.Â
