A member of the LSU Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes staff since August 2008, Jason Shaw has served as a champion of Student-Athlete Academic Success with 24 years of progressive experience at top-tier programs.  In Shaw’s current capacity, he oversees the Academic Affairs unit and also serves as the coordinator of the LSU Project Graduation program which provides assistance to former Student-Athletes who have returned to LSU to work on earning their degree.
 
Within the University, Shaw has served on the campus judicial hearing panel through the Office of Student Advocacy & Accountability, UCGE, and is an active member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) where he currently serves on the Student-Athlete Development Committee.  In 2018 Shaw was selected to participate in LEAD LSU which is a leadership development program for high-performing and emerging leaders within the University. The program focuses on building and enhancing leadership skills to support the University’s strategic objectives. He was also selected to participate in the 2024 N4A Professional Development Institute (PDI) which was created with the vision to provide an innovative professional development experience for individuals seeking to excel in the field of Student-Athlete support services. 

Prior to coming to LSU, Shaw worked in Student Services for Intercollegiate Athletics at Kansas State University. He also served as a graduate assistant in the Event Management / Operations Department from 2006-2007.

A former Student-Athlete in college, Shaw received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a Social Science Teaching emphasis from the University of Central Missouri. He completed his Master’s degree in Higher Education (College Student Personnel and Athletics Administration) at Kansas State University in the Fall of 2007.  He is currently pursuing a PhD in Extension Education at Louisiana State University.
