Priscilla Herrera joined the LSU Cox Academic Center for Student-Athletes staff as a Learning Specialist in September 2022. Prior to LSU, Priscilla spent six years as an educator in Texas spanning from kindergarten to high school age groups. Most recently, she taught at Ki Charter in San Marcos, Texas as an English Special Education inclusion teacher. Throughout her teaching career she gained experience in teaching diverse groups of students with various academic challenges.

Priscilla [Velasquez] Herrera was a four-year softball letterwinner at East Carolina University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2012. Priscilla received her Master of Education degree in Coaching, Sport, Recreation and Fitness Administration from Angelo State University in 2015. Priscilla is a member of the N4A NACDA affiliate organization.

As an athlete from 2009-2012, Priscilla and the Pirates were three-time Conference USA (C-USA) Champions. Priscilla helped her team win the 2011 C-USA Tournament Championship title for the second consecutive year and was named the 2011 C-USA Tournament MVP. In the classroom, Priscilla was on the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll from 2009-2012 and earned a C-USA Academic Medal in 2009 with a 3.75 GPA or better.  Â

Priscilla is married to Keonte’ Herrera who is an Assistant Athletics Communications Director at LSU. They have two children, Malakai and Ariella, and reside in Baton Rouge.
